When JoAnn touched down in Santiago, Chile, she was ready for adventure—but totally unprepared for how photogenic the city would be. From the towering Andes to the colorful streets of Bellavista, she was snapping selfies like a tourist on a mission. One particular photo, though, was destined for greatness: JoAnn, with a smile on her face, standing in front of Palacio de La Moneda Palace. It was glorious. This is where I did a little digital magic.
Using Canva: With a few clicks and a dramatic internal monologue, I removed the background of one of my pictures into a picturesque sceen. It was like Photoshop, but without the pain and tears. Suddenly, JoAnn was living her best life, perfectly posed in front of every landmark she almost got a decent photo in front of. Canva didn’t just remove the background—it elevated the whole experience to Instagram-influencer levels.
With the new masterpiece in hand, I crafted a flyer that screamed, “This is JoAnn’s Santiago era.” It was educational, it was inspirational, and honestly, it was kind of hilarious. If you looked closely, you could still see a faint outline of a hot dog in her hand—because no amount of background removal could erase JoAnn’s true love for Chilean street food. So here’s to travel, tech, and the art of making yourself look slightly more fabulous than reality ever allowed.
