Jayda, Kenny, and I traveled to Cancun, Mexico, for our niece’s wedding, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like a dream. We checked into a stunning resort that looked like something out of a magazine — white sand beaches, swaying palm trees, and the bluest water I’d ever seen. After settling into our rooms, we met up with family and friends to catch up and soak in the tropical atmosphere. Laughter and excitement filled the air as we all prepared for the days ahead.
On the second day, we kicked off our morning with some silly photo shenanigans as we made our way to breakfast. Everyone was in such high spirits, joking and posing for the camera at every turn. As we walked through the resort grounds, we spotted a strange little animal grazing in the grass — it looked like a mix between a monkey and a raccoon! None of us were quite sure what it was, but it definitely added a fun and wild moment to our day. The rest of the day was spent enjoying the beach, pool, and spending quality time with family.
Day three was all about adventure! The wedding party boarded a boat for an excursion to Cozumel Island. The ride over was filled with music, sunshine, and beautiful ocean views. Once we arrived, we dove right into the crystal-clear waters for a swim and then wandered through the local shops, picking up souvenirs and tasting authentic Mexican snacks. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and exploration. The following day, Jayda, Kenny, and I took a trip to Chichén Itzá, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Walking through the ancient ruins was humbling — the history was rich and fascinating, but it also made me grateful to live in modern times! Before heading back, we had custom “birth certificates” made, imagining what it would have been like to live in that ancient civilization.
Finally, the big day arrived — the reason we had all gathered in this beautiful paradise. Our niece’s wedding was absolutely breathtaking, set against a backdrop of the sparkling Caribbean Sea. Every detail was perfect, from the emotional vows to the lively celebration that followed. Watching her begin this new chapter surrounded by so much love and joy was the highlight of the entire trip. It was a week full of unforgettable memories, family, and so much laughter — a true celebration of love in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
